Liverpool were close to securing a deal for ex-Real Madrid forward Alvaro Negredo during the January Transfer window but ran out of time. Liverpool fans would've assumed with the new strike force that Liverpool have and Dirk Kuyt performing that Liverpool will be content with what they have. However reports emerging suggest that Liverpool will look for a new back-up striker in the form of Alvaro Negredo, Mario Gomez or Ezequiel Lavezzi.
