Seven Transfers That Seem Realistic

Liverpool have been linked with many a player ahead of the summer transfer window. If each rumor is true, then Liverpool would probably have a squad consisting of about 50-60 players. So we decided to list down some of the transfers that seem more likely to take place.

1) Christian Poulsen

Christian Poulsen arrived from Juventus for an inflated transfer fee said to be around the £5m mark. The Dane has failed to impress Liverpool fans and staff likewise during the chances he was given under both the King and under Roy Hodgson. Liverpool are said to be looking to offload 'dead wood' and kopites will certainly feel Poulsen is part of the 'dead wood'. Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are on the lookout for young players or players that can make a big difference in the first team, and Poulsen doesn't seem to fit into any of those categories. The ageing midfielder has also been threatened by his manager (National Team) that he will be dropped from the squad, if he doesn't play consistently for Liverpool.

2) Paul Konchesky

The former Fulham left-back has been poor and fans will believe that he isn't Liverpool material. The Englishman is currently on loan at championship side Nottingham. Liverpool would probably have offloaded him in the January transfer window if he had not played for Fulham already. The rule that a player cannot play for more than 2 sides a season prevented Liverpool from doing so. The orthodox left back will seek for first team action in the final stages of his career and as mentioned previously, FSG are looking to offload 'dead wood' and old players who can't make a big difference to the first team.

3) Sylvain Marveuax

The French International had picked up an injury during the course of what seems to be his final season at Rennes which has prevented him from playing thus far. Reports claim that the highly sought after winger has completed the move to Anfield and that the move is to be finalized subject to a medical. Kenny Dalglish had earlier admitted that the Liverpool front line needed ammunition from the flanks and Sylvain Marveuax would certainly be able to deliver quality crosses provided he remains fit. Liverpool fans will hope he is the first of many to come.

4) Jose Enrique

Liverpool legend Phil Thompson had suggested that Jose Enrique had completed the move to Liverpool successfully, but those rumors were quickly rubbished. However it still seems as though Liverpool are going to target the highly rater full-back provided Newcastle do not ask for Jay Spearing in return as reports suggest that they might. The left-back position has caused a lot of problems for Liverpool this season, with Fabio Aurelio constantly being injured and Paul Konchesky not making the grade. Only recently has youth product Jack Robinson filled that position with some reassurance. However Liverpool will be looking for a slightly more experienced player to fill in and they may find that in the form of Jose Enrique. If Liverpool are put of by Newcastle's asking price or by their unwillingness to sell him, they might look for alternatives such as Aly Cissokho.

5) Milan Jovanovic

The Serbian who arrived from Belgian club Standard Liege last Summer has failed to live up to expectations. Though the highly rated forward had previously claimed that he would fight for his place in the Liverpool team, it seems more than likely that he, along with his fellow arrivals (Konchesky and Poulsen) will leave Liverpool this coming summer. Rumors are already circulating regarding him moving to Germany. However we'll have to wait till things are done and dusted before we can make any solid conclusions regarding his future.

6) Ezequiel Lavezzi

Liverpool have been tracking the Argentine for the past 12 months according to his agent. He seemed to have impressed Damien Comolli and Kopites like wise especially during his performance against Liverpool in the UEFA Europa League. However it may require Liverpool to compete in Europa next season to tempt him to join what would arguably be the Premier League's best strike force consisting of Luis Suarez, Andrew Carroll, Dirk Kuyt and himself (Ezequiel Lavezzi). The versatile forward who can also play on the left hand side is said to be valued around the £2om mark and Liverpool are reluctant to pay over £18m for a player who is yet to prove himself in the Premier League. That being said Liverpool are still likely to sign him.

 7) Phil Jones

The 19 year old center back has impressed Liverpool's Damien Comolli during his performances for his club (Blackburn Rovers). Phil Jones is probably the least likely in this list to join Liverpool as the asking price is said to be over inflated. Liverpool, however will be looking to beef up their defense which consists of 2 veterans and 1 injury prone Dane in the form of Jami Carragher, Daniel Agger, and Sotirios Kygriakos.  French International, Mamadou Sakho and Bolton defender Gary Cahill are also said to be on Liverpool's wishlist should they not pull the signing of Phil Jones through.

Please let us know what you make of this, if you find any other player likely to join Liverpool, please inform us along with the reason on why you think he will join L4.
